So we recently had the chance to visit Miami and see some family courtesy of my brother Jonathan getting married to his lovely Julie.
Day one of our trip consisted of a lovely drive from Bradenton over to Miami...two hours down to Naples, then two hours straight across to Ft. Lauderdale, then 20 minutes south to Miami! Once there, we found the hotel and met up with family. Don't you love how events get family together? From my mom's side we saw my Aunt Gloria, cousin Andrew and girlfriend, and from my dad's side we saw my Uncle Brian and daughter Emily (as a side note, he was officiating). My parents and two other brothers, Jordan and Geoffrey, also were in town for the event.
That night (Wednesday) we went out to explore Lincoln Road Mall and have dinner with the two lovebirds, Jon and Julie. Here are a few pictures from that evening:
The next day gave us ample opportunity to hang out before getting ready for the early evening wedding so we headed out to South Beach. We explored the Art Deco District, went for a walk on the beach, and indulged in some Cuban for lunch before heading back to get ready.
We met up at Schnebly Redland's Winery for the blessed event around 5:00... I learned a little something about the difference between Cubans and others. The invitations said 4:30 but that was so the ceremony would start by 5:00...it started at 5:15. Well, it was worth the wait as the ceremony got under way... the men were handsome, the maids were beautiful, and the bride and groom were beaming! Here's a peek at the evening:
Overall it was a short but lovely few days with family and celebrating my brother's new life. My parents and brothers did hop over to the West Coast for about 24 hours before heading home but we'll save that for another post. =)
